There. We said it. Oklahoma State played really well.
Now, let’s get back to our regularly scheduled program–the one where the Tigers win.
Looking forward to next week’s Tiger Chow menu, which will consist of fresh Longhorn.

A local Tiger alerted us to this reprint of a 1976 Sports Illustrated article about our upset of Nebraska in Lincoln.
It’s a great article. Thanks, Bob Wallis!

For people who graduated in this century, or for any alums who are keeping up with the times, we have an open Facebook event for the Oct. 4 watch party, so you can respond there. And, of course, if you haven’t already joined our Facebook group, and you know what Facebook is, what are you waiting for? Join up!
ESPN will broadcast the Mizzou-Nebraska football game nationally live from Lincoln starting at 6 p.m on Saturday, Oct. 4th. We’ll begin our watch party at Spitfire in Seattle at 5:30 p.m.
Missouri hasn’t beaten the Huskers in Lincoln since 1978, so this will be a very big game.
Attendees will order individually off the Spitfire menu. For directions, go to http://www.spitfireseattle.com.
Please RSVP to mark@MarkZiegler.com by Thursday, Oct. 2nd.
GO TIGERS!!!
Please join us at Spitfire in Belltown for the Oct. 4th telecast against Nebraska. As of Sept. 16th, gametime is officially to be determined, so check back here for the exact time, or check the newspaper listings or the schedule at mutigers.com. RSVP please to mark@MarkZiegler.com by Thursday, Oct. 2nd.
In previous years, we’ve joined the Nebraska folks at their regular hangout — the Lucky 7 Tavern in Kirkland. However, with a new coach and a great start to the season, their attendance has surged. To ensure comfort for both alumni bases, we decided to watch the game separately this year.
We look forward to seeing you at Spitfire for this Big 12 North showdown, live from Lincoln!
Also, many thanks to the approximately 50 Tigers who joined us at Spitfire for the big win over Illinois!
Thanks to all the Mizzou folks who joined us for the Monday, July 7th event featuring Everett native Dave Christensen and wife Suzie. Thirty local Tigers joined us for the event at our regular hangout, Spitfire, in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. Everyone enjoyed a great appetizer buffet, then listened to updates from Andrea Cathey, of Mizzou’s Regional Programs and Development office, as well as Dave himself. Dave presented a highlights DVD of the great 2007 season, then answered a bevy of questions about the program. Many thanks to Dave, Suzie, Andrea, the Spitfire staff and all those who were able to attend. Dave promised to update us in person as regularly as his schedule permits on his trips back to the Puget Sound area.
NOW, mark those calendars for the Saturday, Aug. 30th ESPN telecast of Mizzou-Illinois from St. Louis. We’ll start at Spitfire at 5 p.m.; gametime is 5:30 p.m. (Pacific). RSVP please to mark@MarkZiegler.com.

Join us Wednesday, Jan. 16th, at Spitfire for a sort of combination event: A chance to watch the Mizzou men’s basketball team (10-5) take on Iowa State, as well as to meet Andrea Cathey, MU’s regional programs representative for the Western and Mountain states, who will be visiting Seattle.
The basketball telecast begins at 5 p.m; the event with Andrea begins at 6 p.m. You’re welcome to come early and watch the game until the event starts, at which point we’ll all watch the rest of the game together.
Next, we’ll hear from Andrea. She’ll update us on the happenings on campus and tell us all about her trip to Dallas to see our football Tigers play in the Cotton Bowl.
If you’re among the first to arrive at 5 p.m. or so, just tell the folks at Spitfire that you’re there for the Mizzou event and you’d like to watch the basketball game before the formal event begins. They’ll direct you to our section and turn on the game (tell them it’s channel 647).
If you’re coming from work and can’t arrive until sometime well after 6 p.m., don’t worry about it — just show up when you can. It’s a work night, after all. The full bar and dinner menu will be available to you once you arrive.
Please RSVP, if you can, to mark@MarkZiegler.com or markjziegler@aol.com. Hope to see you there!
