down in olympia? find journeying to seattle for a television watch party a bit of a stretch? then read on!

Olympia Tiger Mike Lang wrote recently asking if the Seattle-area Tigers knew of any television watch groups down in the South Sound region. We do not. However, if you’d like to join Mike, who is a newspaper editor, in watching a game down there, feel free to contact him at mike_lang@hotmail.com. He’d appreciate any recommendations on good places to watch telecasts.

FYI, there are FSN Midwest and FSN Northwest channels. If the Mizzou telecast is on “FSN,” you usually need to find out which of the two channels it is on. If it’s the Midwest channel only, you need to make sure the viewing site actually receives that channel. Some sports bars are confused, at times, about which channels they get. FSN Midwest is DirecTV channel 647 (in the Seattle area, at least). Many of the Big 12’s FSN Midwest games that start at 9:30 a.m. (Pacific) are indeed carried as well on FSN Northwest. For instance, this Saturday’s 9:30 a.m. game against Texas A&M, on FSN Midwest, will also be televised in the Seattle area on Comcast cable channel 30, which is usually considered FSN Northwest. The same, we’re guessing, will also be true for the following week, the 9:30 a.m. game versus K-State, on FSN Midwest. All other times in the day … who knows.

(Blogster’s note: And, if you want a good slice of pizza, go for Old School Pizza in downtown Olympia. The pepperoni pizzas are on a par with Shakespeare’s in Columbia! I worked in Olympia for nine months.)
